KING’S COLLEGE – CERVANTES INSTITUTE
The seat of the Cervantes Institute at Alcala de Henares is located in the Colegio del Rey or King’s College, the residence of Quevedo and other university students when studying at Alcala
ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE
It was constructed in the 14th century as a fortress. During the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries it was converted into a town residence, with a succession of styles: Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque. In the 19th century it became the General Archive of the Kingdom and is currently the seat of the Bishop of ALcala. The building was also the setting for the first interview between Christopher Columbus and the Catholic Kings.
